AMÉLIE JODOIN
CACHE-CACHE À LA NAPOULE
7 SEPT - 12 OCT, 2024
TIAN Contemporain is pleased to present the latest solo exhibition by Montreal-based artist Amélie Jodoin. Playfully titled “Hide-and-seek at La Napoule”, the exhibition unveils a new body of whimsical pieces by the artist inspired by French delights, following a recent residency in La Napoule, in the south of France.
Always casting an amused eye on her environment, Jodoin is interested in the transformation of existing images and the metamorphosis of the landscapes in which she finds herself; her polychrome paintings with playful and enigmatic universes present scenes based on reality, where sometimes trivial objects from present or past daily life are unexpectedly slipped in.
Amélie Jodoin (b. 1988) obtained a Bachelor’s in visual and media arts from UQAM in 2016. She recently exhibited at SPRING/BREAK (New York), Tub Hackney (London), Plural (Montreal) and FUTURE (New York). Her works can be found in the collections of Google, Ubisoft, Art Muse, and other private collections.
